WHY YOU SHOULD NOT SEE SUPERMAN AS A FICTIONAL CHARACTER
WHY YOU SHOULD NOT SEE SUPERMAN AS A FICTIONAL CHARACTER
Superman aka Man of Steel aka Clark Kent/Kal-el is a fictional character created decades ago, now there are various reasons I am going to share with you why Superman is more than just fiction, basically fiction is just for fun, its something one just gets to enjoy and forget about it but for Man of Steel there is a lot that cannot be forgotten or overlooked.
Superman is a hero that teaches every other hero how to be a hero and that is a major land mark about him.
1. Selfless Heroism: Superman has countless times showed us that loving others was more important than we think. Superman would easily put his life out to save others over himself, it doesn’t matter if he is invulnerable or vulnerable to the attack, his first instinct is to protect those around him.
2. Humility beyond imagination: One thing I am sure about is that if you give a man the abilities of Superman he would automatically put himself above the law but this is not the case with Superman.
Superman has chosen to work under the people he protects, these are the same people he could destroy in a blink if he wants to but he chooses to stay under the control of men and respecting the fact that he resides in their world. People today become rich and automatically put themselves above every authority and will not hesitate to snub or humiliate those under them, now imagine what they would do if they had the abilities of Superman.
I remember somebody saying that if he had the ability he would remove oxygen from Africa; Superman on the other hand stays humbled and prefers to work with the government of the world in order to provide world peace, he refuses to be King over us even though we know he is a God.
3. Merciful and Forgiving with a Second chance: Superman is fund of forgiving and holding back from taking down enemies; I remember whenever I watched a superman animation I would constantly get angry as to why superman was being too merciful, I got angry as to why he refuses to take down an enemy quickly even though he was clearly way stronger than they are, I later got to understand that Superman was not a man even though raised by men, he had a different understanding and approached situations completely differently. He would give a second chance to enemies and would be sure to warn enemies to surrender before capturing them.
4. Nobody dies today: Superman is not known as a Character that kills his enemies at first encounter, for Superman, killing is only considered when nothing else can be considered. He could talk his enemies out of the evil or beat the evil out of them (which of cause I prefer) or cease them and bash them into a place where they can harm no one anymore.
5. No autocracy: Superman as a leader of the Justice League will rather put ideas together from the team than enforce his own ideas or plans, he leads and not rule and he leads from the front not on a throne. Imagine a man in position of Superman, he would definitely put himself above all and rule over others instead of leading them but for Superman he naturally leads by example. He makes it his obligation to lead and save even though he knows that it doesn’t have to be his obligation.
When I look at Superman I see Jesus, there appears to be a lot of similarities between both persons, they put others ahead of themselves, speak with intelligence, teach others by being an example.
